I completed an MA in Spanish in 2012 and a PhD from the Hispanic Linguistics program in 2017. Currently I am an Assistant Professor of Hispanic Linguistics and the Coordinator of the Heritage Language Program in the Department of Writing and Language Studies at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. My research interests center around language variation and change, Spanish in contact, bilingualism, Spanish as a heritage language, language acquisition, and Spanish phonology.
